On the Up

Compare the River Ouse today with last Sunday when I was standing by the furthest black posts. We are scheduled more rain tomorrow, and wind ................

  1. There was a report on last night's news about the floods across England. The video taken from the air was quite shocking. I hope you're high and dry.

  2. It is just starting to rain in The Midlands now, heading your way. I think we can all say 'we have had enough'.

    1. Indeed, I have certainly had enough of cycling to work and back in waterproofs. Hope you are well away from the worst of it.

  3. Talk about extremes Deb, we haven't had any for months and you get this much in a short period, crazy!

    1. Yes, you must be longing to see some rain! Lack of it is as bad as too much.

  4. Wow, Deb! All those buildings along the river must be getting damaged to some extent.

    1. They are used to it along here, they use stone fittings rather than wood etc. but yes each immersion must cause some damage.

  6. I seem to remember you had floods last year, too. I'm glad to hear you're dry. I saw the aerial footage of the Somerset levels and I feel so bad for those people.
Perth, we're in your situation here in California. All of this makes me wonder why no one's talking about global warming. Maybe it's too touchy politically. But I'd hate for us not to check it out if there's something we can do about it.
